Michelle Wie is on the top of another list that isn’t related to a golf tournament.
Michelle Wie is number 4 on the top 20 richest celebrities under 25. The top 4 on the list are athletes with the obvious first going to Lebron James.
Michelle Wie, who struggled this year in golf tournaments still brought in $19 million. Most of that sponsor money from people banking on her expected golf talent.
The next tournament that she could be involved in the Sony Open, might not even happen for her even though Sony is one of her sponsors. Tadd Fujikawa has already been invited and Michelle Wie will probably be next on the list.
Michelle Wie, Michelle Wie will stop playing against the men came in the last few weeks, and then her family responding that in fact Michelle may still play against the men.
I guess we know who makes the final decisions with regards to her career, which we give no opinion on either way.
The tournament will be played this July 12-15 and is the same tournament that Michelle Wie dropped out of because of heat exhaustion last year and ruffled quite a few feathers in during the process. This has also been called her best chance to make the cut in a men’s tournament.
We’ll wait to see who all shows up as the field hasn’t been set yet.
It seems as though Michelle Wie will play in the Samsung World Championship which will be held October 11 though the 14th in Palm Desert, California at the Bighorn Golf Club.
The women’s event is where Michelle Wie made her pro debut in 2005 and where the previous year she stunned the crowd with a 13th place finish at the young age of 14! Although her pro debut was marred by Wie being disqualified for signing the wrong scorecard she is still fond of the event have this to say.
“It’s an honor to be invited to play in the Samsung World Championship. There is nothing like going back to where my professional career started, and playing against the best players in the world. I’m excited for the opportunity.”
Michelle Wie will have stiff competition with Lorena Ochoa (who won last year) and Morgan Pressel who won this years first major, have already qualified for the event.
Michelle Wie just accepted a sponsors exemption to play in the LPGA tour event, The Ginn Tribute, hosted by Annika Sorenstam. Michelle, who recently turned down a sponsors expemtion, will most likely be cleared by doctors to play in next months event.
She has been out of play since the Sony Open where she played poorly and then hurt her wrist the following month.
The tournament, which is scheduled to start on May 28th, will be Michelle Wie’s first LPGA event this year. She’s currently finishing up her final year at Punahou High School in Hawaii before she attends Stanford in the fall.

Neither did a lot of reporters as she spoke fluently about her golf career to a flurry of reporters at a news conference in Tokyo, Japan.
The 17 year Wie who recently was invited back to the Sony Open talked to reporters on her trip to Japan about how her practice is improving as well as her game and she is working towards making the cut on the PGA tour and competing regularly against the men.
She will play in the Casio World Open on the Japan Golf Tour from November 23 to the 26th.

Michelle Wie, the teen golfing sensation from Hawaii was invited yet again to play the PGA tour event, The Sony Open, at Waialae Country Club in Honolulu Hawaii.
The course, which is now presumed to be her home course, since we don’t see her out at Olomana golf course anymore will be a challenging one, but one that Michelle Wie can play well it.
Michelle will compete against the men on January 11 through hopefully the 14th where she will try and make her first cut on the PGA tour. 17 year old Wie played well in the LPGA this year but took a lot of criticism for her PGA tour events. She’ll look to rebound and keep fighting for her chances on the men’s tour.

Michelle Wie will compete against the best again this weekend at the Samsung World Championship heald at Bighorn Golf Club in Palm Desert.
The Best women that is.
Michelle Wie heads back to the LPGA where she will take on Karrie Webb, Se Ri Pak, Annika and more on Oct. 12 – 15. This is the site where her professional debut was, and where she was disqualified after it was reported she didn’t take a proper drop.
The tournament is a 72-hole event with a purse of $875,000. Michelle Wie will have some tough competition at the tournament, all gunning for the worlds best which has been held by Annika six times before including last years win.
Michelle Wie, after firing her caddie a few weeks ago Michelle Wie has found a new man to carry her bag. Golfweek.com has just reported that Andrew Lano II will carry her bag for the next two events.
Michelle Wie is slate to play again in two weeks during the European Tour’s Omega European Masters during the weekend of September 7-10 and then back at the PGA tours 84 Lumber Classic during the following weekend of September 14-17.
She is also scheduled as of right now to play the Samsung World Championship during October 12th-15th, 2006 and the Casio World Open during November 23-26th, 2006 on the Japan Tour. Sources didn’t say if she would be using Lano during those final two events but our guess would be that if she played well in the first two events in september that he would stick around for the final two events of ‘06.
Andrew Lano has caddied mostly for Kenny Perry during the last 20 years on the PGA tour and has never met Michelle Wie before. It is reported that Lano will hang with Michelle Wie and the Wie Camp in Hawaii (Michelle’s home state) to get to know her, her family, and her game.
