This story just broke and we had to bring it to you quickly. David Leadbetter, one of the best coaches out there, and also Michelle Wie’s coach said in a press release today about Michelle that, “She hasn’t got any PGA Tour events planned at the moment. She’s going to commit herself to the LPGA and play a number of events, and next year she’ll probably take up membership.”
Wow!
That’s the first time since this blog about Michelle Wie has been around that someone in her camp has talked about the future plans of Michelle Wie. This coming just before she graduates from high school in Hawaii; and makes her move on to Stanford where she’ll…. study I guess.
Leadbetter also had this to say about Michelle Wie. “She just needs to get her confidence going and just go play. Now is the time to establish herself. My feelings are that if she plays week in and week out on the LPGA, she would win eight or nine times a year. She has the potential to be that good, so why not, if you want to fulfill your potential.”
We hope that now that she is leaving behind the media frenzy that was her playing at PGA tour events that she’ll be able to concentrate on golf and really play up to her potential.
