Happy 17th Birthday Michelle Wie

Michelle Wie Turns 17 today October 11th, 2006. Another year older and her first year as a professional under her belt. Congratulations.

The Hawaii born Wie is celevrating her birday preparing for the Samsung World Championship that will start on Thursday.

The year was good to Wie, although reporters began to wear thin at her attempts at the mens tour she played in seven LPGA events and finished in the top 5 in six of them and one of those 6 she finished second.

Sure she missed the cut in all her PGA tour events but she’s learning as she goes along, and has learned a lot from her first year in the big leagues.

She will try this weekend for her first LPGA tour win as she takes on some of the best women in the world.
