After 36 holes of golf Michelle Wie is two strokes behind the leaders at even par. Pat Hurst and Annika Sorenstam lead the way both at 2 under par.
Michelle Wie struggled early with her putting but looked to be asking for help from her caddie as opposed to the previous few tournaments where she brushed him off to take the putts on herself. She came on later in the day to pull her putting together sinking some key putts to save par on several holes.
Michelle Wie drove one shot off the tee, with a three wood into the bushes much to her dismay. She then took a provisional shot again from the tee in case she wasn’t able to find her ball. Turns out her ball was semi playable in the bushes but she decided to not take her chances punching back into the fairway and instead took a drop in some rain soaked grass. She then showed the crowd some brilliance as she let a 7 iron fly, sticking the muck, and sending the ball within 10 feet of the hole. Follow that shot up with a nice putt to save par and she was back in the hunt.
The final two rounds of the US Women’s open are scheduled for tomorrow the final having a start time of 3 om eastern standard.
